Tiger Salamander Trying Not to be Seen

Tiger Salamander Trying Not to be Seen

The tiger salamander, like most amphibians, is locally endangered in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. We saw this one early in the morning in camp at Colter Bay Village, GTNP. June 2009.

Re: Nice Catch

Thanks! I was glad to add tiger salamander to the "list of things I have photographed while lying prone."

Re: Nice Catch

Arthur just said that Tiger Salamanders are
locally endangered in the Yellowstone area.

Seems to me, the Tiger Salamander should take
"propagation lessons" from the grasshopper.

You GO Tiger !!! !!

Re: Nice Catch

Exactly, Delta. And also the squirrel in the snow in the Smokies, among others.

Glad you're amused. :)

Re: Nice Catch

Nice idea, Larry, but a salamander would eat the grasshoppers first. C'est l'amour.

Re: Nice Catch

Sorry, but I don't speak French. All it
does is get me in trouble.

Yes, a salamander is quite a ways up there
in the food chain.
