Chill day out
Needed a quick dose of some fresh air. Bottom 2 miles resembled Disneyland, but from columbine spring onwards I saw less than 5 other individuals. Pretty views from the top, all in all took ~3.5 hours start to finish.

Consolation Prize
Beautiful day in the San Gabe's, with some fresh spring snow. So much snow in fact, that our original plan to do Ontario was thwarted with deep snow (3+foot drifts after the saddle...all we had were trail runners), so opted for the less snowy south-facing ridge up to Timber. With Zoe. Fun mellow day.

Three Ts
I assume it would be a nice view, but pretty misty while I was there
Went from Icehouse Canyon to Thunder and then stopped by Timber mountain on the way back. I was feeling it by then. The sign at the summit is still there. Not much in the way of views from Timber mountain though. Too much timber...

Nice Sign at the Top
There's a nice sign at the top, hopefully it won't get vandalized or stolen like everything else in Los Angeles.

Icehouse Canyon route
We were running low on time after reaching the saddle via Icehouse Canyon and decided to summit the closest peak. Only saw a few people along the way. Nice views at the top, and the last section of the climb is a great leg workout!

Snowless Spring
3T's from Icehouse and return same way. Only snow/ice was on north side of Cucamonga visible from the saddle and 3T's. Inadvertent shortcut down Timber's southerly ridge led back to the saddle.

Icehouse Canyon to Timber Mtn.
The date may indicate it's still winter, but conditions in the San Gabriels say it's spring. We made slow progress up to Icehouse Saddle before opting to climb up Timber Mountain instead of our original intended destination, Cucamonga Peak, due to it being 3:45pm and sunset occurring around 6:30pm at this time of year. We signed the register at the summit and made our way back down in a scant 1.25 hours.

Mountains Gorgeous with Snow
Went up to Timber in the early parts of spring and there was still a lot of snow and ice on the trail. The trail was beautiful as the mountains all had snow still on them. Definitely worth doing in early spring/later winter.
