6 Peaks 8000 Feet
Our first goal was Timber Mountain (8303’). We met in the parking lot, and started up the Icehouse Canyon Trail though Icehouse Canyon. The trail was graded with plenty of switchbacks making the elevation gain much smoother. We met lots of hikers on the way to the saddle (Elevation 7555’). At the saddle we diverged onto the 3Ts trail, and completed the 4.5 mile trek to the summit of Timber Mountain. The total elevation gain for this section was 3403’. We signed the register, and headed toward our next destination which was Telegraph Peak.
Amazing how many people bail after reaching the saddle. Never saw a soul after leaving for Timber Mtn.

Via Icehouse
We did the 3 T's today. A bit chilly with the wind, but the spectacular views more than made up for that. Awesome hike.

Up Icehouse. Down Chapman Trail
Crystal clear day up the canyon. Cool breeze on Timber summit. Opted for Chapman Trail back to Icehouse trailhead. Highly recommend it for superb views!
W/ Dad via Icehouse TR, came back on the Chapman Trail. Great views, temps, and a great hike.

#3 of 3 T's
Via Ice House Cyn, tagged Telegraph first then Thunder. Rather windy day; lots of sun. Nice trail to summit but what is the "Chapman Mtn" register box doing in a tree up there? Ran quite a bit of the way back to TH until I fell in love with the fall colors in the canyon and slowed down to gaze.

First of three
Took the 3T trail from Icehouse Canyon to Timber, Telegraph, and Thunder on a very warm day in August. Went back the same way (overall ~15 miles and 5,900 feet elevation gain).
The first time I took my Siberian Husky up a mountain was Timber. She loved hiking ahead of me (just in sight) and when we got up to the summit, we ate and then she went wondering around the top getting further and further away. She vanished and I climbed the big tree on the summit to almost the top. I watched her return and wimpering when she realized I was gone. To get even with me, back at the Icehouse Restuarant (now gone) parking lot she found their grease pit and rolled around in it. I scraped handfuls of grease off her before wrapping her up in a newspaper and driving home.

Via Icehouse in some snow
Made a nice little day hike with snow coverage halfway between the saddle and the summit. We put on crampons for fun rather than by necessity. Found excellent cougar tracks near the top.

Lots of Trees
Climbed this one with my sister Dirndlgirl and the Sierra Club for a Cucamonga Wilderness Expansion Campaign. A bit anticlimactic for the effort slogging it up through Ricehouse Canyon.
