My ninth state highpoint. Very short but I enjoyed climbing both of the towers. Much nicer views from the steel one because you are over the tree line. Very nice people at the Mountain Village, be sure to try the carmel collision ice cream!

#4 SHP in 1985
Vanessa and I drove up from Barrington Hills, IL to tag our 4th of my 49 state high points and her 39. For good measure, we stopped by Rib Mountain (1940 feet, and previously identified as Wisconsin's highpoint) on the way home.

that lookout tower...
climbed the radio tower as recommended--that was some freaky exposure without a harness or anything! it was nice to finally get to the top of my home state...

Christmas Eve
A quick stop on the way for Christmas with the fam. Quite a remarkable amount of snow on the ground for the time of year...must have been close to 2 feet! Snow coming down good when we started out but cleared for some nice views at the top. Tower is gonna need another floor soon as the trees block quite a bit of the scenery, but still nice.

Timms Hill Trail
Hiked with my wife to the summit. There were low clouds so there were no views to speak of but still an interesting place. When you are from Colorado you appreciate the trees more I guess. We headed over and did Pearson Hill as well. We found a benchmark on its summit with an elevation of 1950.50 feet. You never know....

Relaxing hike
Following the short hike to the highpoint, we enjoyed the view from the tower, then hiked past a Christmas tree farm to the "Prayer Cabin". From there, we hiked around "Swan Lake" before returning to the parking lot. HP13
A nice, short woodland walk made this highpoint very enjoyable. I liked the summit towers. After taking several photos and getting repeatedly bit by mosquitoes, it was time to go.
This was the first of seven HPs attained on my most ambitious weekend HP road trip to date.

Snow!
Made the trip from Indiana with my daughter. Got to the park and vehicle traffic was prohibited due to the large amount of snow. We walked from the road to the observation tower (summit). Took several pictures including on of the USGS parker. We had a great trip. Tried Mt Avron in Michigan but there was too much snow to get close to the trail head.

Snowshoe Hike
HP #11. Cold & sunny - perfect day for a snowshoe expedition (my first time on snowshoes). Plenty of snow. Base was right across the lake at Highpoint Village resort: stayed 2 nights (loved the Bear's Den cabin). Highpoint Village was a great place with wonderful hosts.

Not successful on first attempt at Timm's Hill on account of our vehicle breaking down somewhere in Northern Wisconsin. Second time was a charm.

Top of the Badger State
Hiked about a mile to this HP from Highpoint Village with about 300 other HPers in conjunction with the Highpointers Konvention. Climbed the steel fire tower for a nice view of the area. Also climbed Pearson Hill, and Rib Mountain that day....the 2nd and 4th highest points in Wisconsin. We also climbed the two highpoints of Jackson County (Saddle Mound and a woods near Fairchild), the Clark County Highpoint (Dorchester hay field), and Taylor County Highpoint (old ski hill near Rib Lake) that week. HP #24.
