Stupidity
Climbed up to Farmers Lake on the afternoon of the 7th. I had just spent 3 weeks at sea level and was surprised (duh!) to find the elevation affecting me. Slept poorly the first night, so naturally had to go out for a hard day the next morning, covering the ridge from Paul BM to N Timothy. Had trouble breathing and sleeping that night due to an accelerated heart rate, which made me very panicky. But of course descent the next morning took care of everything- by the time I got back to my car, it was as though nothing had happened.
I approached the Timothy Lakes area from Swift Creek. The creek was low enough to cross it on rocks. I first climbed Roberts Peak, then Trail Rider, Painter Peak, and the west summit of Painter. Then, headed back towards Timothy Lakes, but traversed the ridge over North Timothy Peak and South Timothy Peak. Long day with great weather, at about 16 and a half hours.

Long day hikeLong early season snowshoe. I've done both the stream ford in high water and the bushwhack and hate both. Other than that, nice trip.
