Peak #2 on the Smokies traverse
Climbed en route to Bromaghin and Saviers (and quite a bit easier than both of those!). Would definitely be good for people looking for great views without any hand-over-hand scrambling.

Sweet View!
Very fun peak! I did it while trying the Traverse to Saviers but we had to turn back near Bromaghin because of weather. So many mountains in every direction!

Galena Summit
Followed the ridge from Lower Titus to the summit. Some snow left with a lot of wild flowers.

nice spring day
The snow was getting a bit mushy with the unseasonably warm weather but overall a nice snowshoe. Ditched the snowshoes for the last few hundred yards as it was mainly rocks. If you planned to keep going to Bromaghin this time of year you would want to haul your snowshoes over the top of Titus. An ice axe might be a good idea as well. No signs of avalanches but some of the cornices might collapse soon.

Winter Time
Fun peak to ridge traverse from the Frank & Bethine Church Summit (formerly Galena). High starting elevation makes for scenic, cold, and often windy conditions. Weather station is on this ridge.

New Years Eve Snowshoeing
Traversed from Galena summit. We'd hoped to get at least as far as Bromaghin, but our pace wasn't very fast and the days are short in December. Broke trail from Lower Titus to Titus, ended up ditching the snowshoes a couple hundred feed from the summit and climbed the windblown ridge. Saw lots of other snowshoers/skiers/boarders on the way back, the most people I'd seen on a trail all year. All in all, a great end to a great year. Here’s a write up and some photos.
My first ascent was in the summer of 03 on the traverse to Saviers Peak. Since then I have summited twice in winter and once in the summer of 05. Its a great little hike with drop-dead views. Highly recommended for the novice.

Winter OutingAlways a fun time to be on a ridge. Relatively warm most of the way, then windy at cold right at summit. Good snow conditions.
