Nugent Canyon Bush Whacking
A incredibly quick summit tag due to leaving dogs tied up above the talus poop chute (new dog had sore paws). Amazing views but definitely not tempted to do it again.

Northeast Ridge
Long hike, picked up a bunch of ticks. Nugent Cyn was posted with a "no trespassing" sign. Nice views.

Nugent Loop
Climbed up the ridge running NE from Tohakum, up over the two peaks (Tohakum and Pyramid) and down the ridge south of Pyramid. An excellent loop hike and much nicer than having to trudge through bushes and loose gravel in the canyon bottom.

Nugent Cyn
Brushy and steep on the way up Nugent Cyn. Continued on to Pyramid.

Nugent Canyon
Parked just off State Route 447 at the turn off to Nugent Canyon. It was a perfect day for climbing, no clouds, no wind and temps in the low 60s. Climbed up to Pyramid first and traversed over to Tohakum. The summit register is as bradb described it. Rusted can holding a couple ziplock bags holding a water logged mess of paper.

Nugent Canyon Route
Headed in a northwesterly direction from the Nugent Canyon road end to access the gentler slopes to the saddle north of Tohakum summit. Summit register was water logged and illegible. Continued with traverse to Pyramid.
Route Climbed: Traverse from Pyramid Date Climbed: Dec 18, 2004
Easy but enjoyable scramble. As Barry notes below, this peak doesn't get climbed too often--in fact, his entry from Mar, 2003 was the last one in the register before mine! Returned via Nugent Canyon, encountering some terrible bushwhacking when I descended the main drainage between Pyramid and Tohakum.
Route Climbed: Nugent Canyon to the South Ridge Date Climbed: March 16, 2003
This peak does not get many visitors - the summit register is signed 4 times a year or less! Saw no tourists after I left the highway, 2:28 up, traverse over to Pyramid (40 min), and then the descent from Pyramid took 1:43. Occasional snow showers, and snow to the east, west, and north.
Route Climbed: Hells Kitchen Canyon Date Climbed: Early Sept 1999
Climbed in the summer with Stan Wilkinson --- didn't know the name of the peak until I looked in the register at the summit! Saw lots of wildlife on the way up. The drive around the lake in a 2WD pickup is not recommended! The weather can be quite hot here....
