Not accurate

David,

This map is inaccurate. Scales Rd is *not* the road shown in red. A more accurate picture can be found here.

Re: Not accurate

Right you are Bob. I noticed that detail a bit after I had posted it, becasue you can't tell where the dirt road branchesd off from Scales on the TOPO! map. Thanks for the link though, it helps.

Re: actually, it is accurate

Your map points out SCALE Rd, not SCALES Rd. Scales is more north of Scale, yet could this be a mis-print? Confusing, huh? Judging from Google Earth, I just figured out that I took Scale Rd thinking it was Scales Rd. to get to the highpoint. It doesn't matter, both roads will eventually link together (near the 5-way intersection)

Re: actually, it is accurate

also, if you look, the point where Scales Rd. crosses Slate Creek, it is barely in Plumas County, yet where Scale Rd. crosses Slate Creek, it is fully in Yuba County.

Re: actually, it is accurate

You may be right. But I'm still confused, because if you are, the five-way junction doesn't make sense. I tried to zoom into Google maps to see if I could recognize the terrain, but the resolution isn't good enough. Oh well. You can delete all the comments here to keep others from being confused. I'm going to have to study the map in more detail when I get some time.
