Started from the bottom of the road at I-70 at 4am and was back by 10:30am. Visibility was nil for most of the day. I couldn't see the summit until I was standing on it!

Torreys Peak from Loveland Pass
Somewhere around 7k feet of gain for the day. No big deal right? Route was great. Was harassed by marauding thunderstorms on the way back over Grizzly Peak. Finally found a break in the storm and made it over and back down. Was a crazy day for sure!

Torreys
There was quite a bit of snow on the summit. There were some people waving a flag on the summit since this was just after 9/11.

Stephens Gulch TH
Combined with Grays Peak. Hiked with HM. Wind was crazy on the saddle...50 mph+...Way too many people, but that's what you get so close to Denver. Nice views from the top.

Summit July 2006
After waiting out rainy weather for a few days in RMNP, the forecast indicated clearing the next day. I headed for the the trailhead and camped for the night(wet, cloudy, cold). No one else in trailhead area all night but starting about 5AM some vehicles entered the parking area(just as cloud cover was breaking) and several started ahead of me. It was one of those windy days when the left over clouds zoom overhead like race cars and the wind moves you around at summit. Cant remember details of time etc., but summited both Torrey's and Gray's and had both peaks to myself - a rarity according to other logs here, seemed like when I was on summit of one other people where in saddle or other peak. Fairly Straightforward ascent.
After a week of perfect sunny weather, the clouds started moving in when I reached the saddle from Grays.
I made it a fast climb.

Kelso Ridge
Blue skies gave way to cute little fluffy clouds and mild temperatures for a perfect day on Kelso Ridge.

2nd 14er in CO
Bad luck with the weather the night before in camp and also in the morning but it cleared. Traversed from Grays. Has more of a feel of a true summit compared to Grays and it has the better views IMHO. A lot of people though.

Up Kelso in the Clouds
Light rain and thus wet rock made for an interesting start to the ascent of Kelso, although luckily it dried up a bit before the knife edge. Ridge and summit were mostly socked in with cloud and fog making for very low visibility and cool temps (for August).

fron Gray's PeakClimbed Grey's and Torrey's with my dad and his friend in 1985. I was about 17, and it was the first time doing 2 14ers in a day.
A wonderful day. I LOVE the CO rockies!
