Route Climbed: Spigolo Delago Date Climbed: aug 1998
Delago Tower: Very, very nice climb. Quite short, not too much difficult (max is IV+ of UIAA scale). Increbile views, especially when you cross the ridge. Very exposed (the price to pay to have the view, I suppose). In the same day we did also the Stabeler. The way for the Stabeler (when you concatenate it with the Delago) is much easier and it is not so nice. Then we stopped climbing due to a thunderstorm (very dangerous on these towers)
We climbed both 'Delago Tower' and 'Stabeler Tower' in early June. We enjoyed very good weather but there still was very much ice. At the 'Winkler Tower' we had no chance since the last (and most) difficult pitch was pure ice. Even the Stabeler Tower was difficult due to ice. If it has been a strong winter better go there in July. I can recommend the famous 'Delago Route' very much. It may be extremely crowded these days but it's worth. Quite exposed but still of moderate difficulty (UIAA IV ?). There are spectacular views. And the rappeling down between Delago and Stabeler is unique.
