Treasury Mountain's "Cables Route"

Steel cables run 1000+ feet down Treasury Mountain's south side. On this day we were happy to use them to descend the tricky, snow covered scree slope en route to nearby Treasure Mountain. I think they may have originally been used by miners to get up and down the mountain, but I don't know for sure. Mining in this area appears to have been very heavy. Elk Mountains, Colorado. Thank you Marc!

I'm not a great photographer so my strategy is always to take tons of pictures. Some are bound to turn out well, right? :)
