Short roped to the top with guide in 2007 to become a real slovenian. Went back in 2009 and climbed to summit solo in and out in a day (13 hours) from planina konjscica.

Lucky with the clouds
It was in the middle of an extended period of generally good weather. However, while the valleys were sunny and hot, there were almost always clouds surrounding some of the higher peaks, and occasionally there would be a bit of rain late in the day, or even a thunderstorm.
Early in the morning, the summit was in clouds, so I made no haste getting up there. I had spent the night in Stanicev Dom, the hut that I had chosen to avoid the possible crowds in Triglavski Dom. That worked out well, Stanicev wasn't crowded at all. Alas, the selection of food was very limited. Quite uncharacteristically, I had just an apfelstrudl for breakfast and nothing to drink - but I knew I could make up for that soon, and so I did, with lots of tea and pancakes at Triglavski Dom.
By the time I approached the summit, the clouds had dissolved, and I had great views all around. Sure, there were lots of other people on the summit, but on the way up, I didn't have to wait often.
For the descent, I had choosen the Plemenice route. It turned out to be more exposed and much, much longer than I had expected, but a very nice route indeed! And quiet too, by the way.
When I eventually reached Luknja, a dark cloud and a few drops made me change my plan. Originally, I had wanted to go to Pogacnikov Dom, which would involve going over Bovški Gamsovec, some 650m higher than the saddle but not a difficult route. However, I didn't fancy being up there in a thunderstorm, so I decided to go down to Trenta instead.

Coke at the top?
Beautiful day. Climbed to the top as a group of 11 people. We were shocked to find a man selling soda out of the peak missle-looking monument. Very safe ascent with the wires and metal poles.

One day, via Tominskov Pot
I'm truly jealous that you've got so beautiful, quiet wild and remote place like Triglav National Park. Ascent with parents during out long trip from Osp to Poland. Unfortunately I hadn't chance even to touch impressive North Face. Unstable weather. Night on the parking, started at 7 AM. 5 AM in Tatra Mountains... Nice views, but this chains everywhere destroy a pleasure, definitely on the summit ridge... It makes the 'iron tourism' from pretty mountaineering route. But in general the stunning place!!!

Up Tominskova Pot, down from Prag
One of the first climb I've done far from the "my" Dolomites. Everything beautiful: what the mountain has offered and the spirit with which we have collected. And the "beer-seller" at the top ... crazy!
I climbed Triglav several times, first time in september 2000 via Plemenice.I remember some icy passages, unpleasant, and my first night at the hut, Kredarica.it was crowded, people snored and farted, I was exhausted in the morning, but I finally earned my slovenian citizenship.Next time it was 15.6 2002, we extended our trip to Vrbanove spice, my cousin and me.On 10.9 2004 I climbed Slovenska via Frelih finish, but did not summit. On 30.1.2005 we did a winter climb. It was minus 18 degrees, and some heavy north wind, it was very hard leaving hut in the morning. There was minus7 in the room, but Borut carried very warm sleeping bag for me.On our way back, we had a snack a little below, on the south side, hiding from the wind, and there,-18 and all, met a kamikaze mouse, trying to steal our brazil nuts.We left a bunch for the brave animal. What a conditions some live on.In 2006 I did Tominšek route solo, and repeated Vrbanove spice plus Triglav ascent. In 2007 we climbed Triglav as a shortest way to the bus, from Doli? to Triglav and down to Kot.In 2008,on 27.8. we repeated Slovenska following a different beginning(kamini)I have gray hair, but it has gotten even whiter on that occasion. I still do not like to recall a particular passage (result of the mistake),but we are still among living. This year I went alone, there was a meeting of veterans, people everywhere, it was july, still some snow left.I went very early and got back before 7 in the morning.I ordered tomato salad for breakfast ( a luxury in the mountains, thanks to veterans and helicopter supplies) I had to fight with a sheep for my salad. They may not be very clever, but they are very strong, and overly domesticated.I descended to Krma slowly, enjoying the loneliness.

Wonderful days. Perfect weather. Great views. I hope we can get to Kredarica this winter and see the kingdom of Triglav covered in snow. when we got back down i couldn't stop looking back, amazed by the north face.
Have fun.
hahahaha, i was trying to avoid that. by the end i was quite exhausted, and i really kept losing my ground on screes and gravel. We were really dehidrated, and we ended up drinking the freezing cold and wonderful water from the stream in Vrata valley. It turned out to be good to drink. :-)

We climbed Triglav with an overnight stay at Kredarica. My wife Sonya and I met a nice French family during a sudden thunderstorm on the way up and spent a fun couple of days hiking with them. We luckily avoided most of the crowds - Triglav is now one of our favorite mountains!
