Fun little desert scramble
This is a good way to get a quick desert peak to start off a day. Head out real early and beat the crowd.

Great ascent
In my opinion, Turtlehead is the outstanding landmark of Red Rock. Maybe that's blasphemy but the fin of a mountain is alluring and visible from most of Las Vegas. It's a steady hike up a wash then a dash to the peak. Near the top I suggest moving toward the South side and observing the almost perfect 90 degree cliff.

Back to Vegas
Revisiting Vegas, didn't realize how much I missed living here. Climbed Turtlehead with two ex coworkers. Great peak!

Great Escape
After three days of house hunting we finally settled on a place and were able to take advantage of an extra day in Vegas to squeeze in a hike. Great views and a busy trail.

Quick exercise climb
I woke up early and decided to go hiking for some exercise. Got up and down the mountain in two hours. It was strangely humid out and almost chilly at the summit.

Fun climb for new hikers
I took four of my non-hiker friends up the mountain. It was a 5 1/2 hours hike for them but everyone stayed in good spirits. It's always nice to introduce people to the joys of hiking.

Quick climb from Sandstone
GPS batteries died 1 mile into the hike which left us to route-find our way back the old-fashioned way.

Perfect Day!
With Kristina on a fantastic trip to Vegas. The trail was very difficult to follow higher up on the mountain and we just picked the path of least resistance and kept going up. From the saddle it was an easy hike to the summit. The views were fantastic and the weather was perfect. The hike down was loose and slippery and we had to take care to stay on our feet. We made it back to the hotel in time for 'Happy Hour'. What a perfect day!

Sandstone Quarry
climbed w/ Whitney Lyman & Lauren Eble - always a nice climb, and ~8" of snow at the peak this time made for some good pictures. Need to remind people to bring gloves for this hike - sharp, loose rocks!

Climbed this one several times. From Sandstone Quarry or Calico Basin. Hiked up from East Face couple of times.

Fun & Easy Climb
Did this climb in the morning before work. Very easy but a lot of fun picking your own route to the top as the trail is not very defined.
