A surprisingly not loose and enjoyable scramble to the top. Good fun!

From Green Creek
On the way up traversed to the right from Virginia Pass and entered a long gully leading toward the summit. On the way back headed down the ridge toward Virginia Peak, and dropped down a steep gully - which I much preferred, it had loose rock and bits of class 3 climbing, but no real exposure and made for a faster trip. The gully closest to Virginia Pass is endless talus-hopping, with a ridge at the end you have to climb over and drop a few hundred feet before summiting.

Par Value Lakes via Green Creek TH
Climbed a loose steep chute from upper Par to gain the ridge and walked over to the east summit. Great views of horse creek canyon. Exited at Green Creek TH.
Climbed the South ridge from Twin Peaks Pass. Due to the large amount of snow covering the east side of the South Ridge, it was necessary to stay almost on top of the crest the whole way, dropping down a few feet to the East or to the West when necessary. This was solid class 3, very enjoyable.
The summit ridge is flattish (class 1-2) with many false summits. The register is on the second to last sub-summit. I think the high point is the last bump, but I am not certain. I tagged both. Trip report

South Ridge
Nice scramble from Twin Peaks Pass. Longer hike than expected--a good thing because it was mostly enjoyable. You can keep the difficulty at class 3 (instead of class 2) for most of the way to the summit plateau by staying high on the ridge instead of dropping down to the east; many of the gendarmes/pinnacles can be surmounted directly. It's pretty loose in some places, but not too terrible compared to other climbs I've done (nearby Virginia Peak was much worse in this regard; the chutes on the west face of Twin Peaks are also looser than the rock on this ridge). The summit plateau was long and I had a hard time finding the highest point on it.

From Virginia Peak
Fun weekend camped at Return Lake, climbing Grey Butte, Stanton Peak, Virginia Peak, and Twin Peaks. I started from Green Lake TH and went over Virginia Pass and looped back past Summit Lake on the return. Note: There was nothing to sign the register with when I was there.

From Par Value Lakes
From highest Par Value Lake, I climbed up a steep narrow chute (short ugly slog) that ends at the southern end of the eastern-most ridge of the complex that is Twin Peaks. Followed this ridge north to where it was possible (and easiest) to travel west over the top of the east peak and then on to the main west peak. Exited down the ravine to the SE and hiked back to TH at Green Creek.
Camped at the head of Virginia Canyon after coming in from Green Lakes. Enjoyed the summit of Virginia a bit more but an exciting route over to Twin with lots of routefinding.
Went up ridge from Virginia. The final stretch, going around the pinnacles was fun. Most of my route wasn't more than loose class 3. I descended the chute from between the summits and found it to be fairly fast and not too loose, taking less than an hour to get back down to the valley.

South Ridge
Traversed the ridge-direct from Virginia Peak. Loose, crumbly, complicated route finding, lots of ups and downs over small gendermes and towers, but not too bad.
Fun class 3 near the middle and them the summit mass, before the long long long scree and talus descent all the way down to Virginia Canyon.
Paid an homage to my own twin sister, Karla on the register.

Twin Peaks via snow gully to S. Ridge
We climbed (me and my friend Dee) a snow gully from the east to reach the south ridge just below the summit. Descent was via the SE drainage. Both up and down were under good snow conditions.

South ridge to SE gulley
10th and last day of the Sierra Challenge. I was stymied 2 weeks earlier when I ascended and traversed through several gulleys on the west face. Back two weeks later to climb Virginia Peak, I traversed over from Twin Peaks Pass for an exciting class 3 climb up the south ridge.

Monty and I intended to stay out one night and climb Virginia and Twin out of Green Lake trailhead. We climbed Twin on the first day, aiming for the gully between the two peaks, but headed up one chute to the left and ended up in a loose, somewhat steep gully. We camped at Return Lake and hiked out the next day without climbing Virginia.
