Wow!

What an incredible shot, Blake. I figure those are chunks of floating ice on the lake.

yes marc they are actually part of Grinnell Glacier that have "calved off". That is not even really a "lake" it is the meltpond below the glacier. The peak behind the glacier is Mount Gould.

There are actually 4 glacier that can be seen from the summit of Mount Grinnell. the one in the photo, Grinnell, then there are two smaller ones above Grinnell named Gem Glacier and The Salamander. On the other side of the ridge is Swiftcurrent Glacier.

You really should come up here next year and spend some time exploring. I would take you up some summits!

Thanks for the links to the other two photos. They are awesome. Thank you also for the invite, Blake. I figure I'll be looking at retirement in the next couple years. That should free up some time for traveling and playing.
