Counting
Thank goodness some of our nation's beautiful landscapes are protected. More parks would be better. The drawback: The parks are being loved to death, too many visitors, too many visitors bringing their city sensibilities with them. I used to seek out the high points in part as a way of getting away from the masses, but now the masses have joined me. Still, the high points call.

Love the Parks...
and all that they stand for... even summitted a few high points! Too bad that many of them have become human zoos.
Trying to visit all of them eventually and high point as many as I can (I realize I more than likely won't finish the latter)
Highpointed:
Sequoia National Park
Guadalupe Mountains National Park
Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Wind Cave National Park
Shenandoah National Park
Theodore Roosevelt National Park
Acadia National Park
Congaree National Park
Hot Springs
Gateway Arch
Mammoth Cave
Cuyahoga
Just Visited:
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Grand Canyon National Park
Carlsbad Caverns National Park
Everglades National Park

18 HP's so far
And about 200 visits... America's best idea indeed.
Of course, I've had the same thought - which outdoors fan wouldn't want to claim she visited all of the 58 National Parks? I even bought the passport to stamp at each of these at some point - of course I lost it... Maybe I should start all over again. :) Here are the 13 I've done so far:
- Acadia
- Arches
- Bryce
- Death Valley
- Grand Canyon
- Great Sand Dunes
- Smoky Mtns.
- Mt Rainier (did not climb it - just hiked around)
- Redwood
- Shenandoah
- Virgin Islands
- Yosemite
- Zion

Good prak system
I have been to many of the National parks and plan to get to all of them some day. They are great and very good at preserving nature and the surrounding areas.
