Nice run
Came in the afternoon (had to work in the morning), started the run at 3 PM, ran non-stop to the top of Electric Pass, hiked "Electric Pass Peak" and Hayden, back and then ran to Leahy. Got back to the car when is was dark and raining. Lovely day.

Great quick peak
I was planning on heading up Electric Pass after work, but ended up feeling good about the evening and decided to head up the Peak. Great views of the valley.

with Leahy
Last week, I got to 150 feet from summit in high winds and crappy snow on the ridge around the false summit. Decided to bail. I felt bad about bailing, and weather was looking good, so I went up again. Several inches of new snow, but the boot track in the first 2 miles still had more bare trail than last week. Trenched to the upper basin. From there up to the saddle, there was less snow than last week. On the ridge, the snow was better, there was virtually no wind, and I had grown a pair. Leahy had looked so far away at first, but it was not much to add it on. Summit register was in bad shape.

Views!
With Katie and Megan, both 11. Not this time, but on several previous occasions, I have followed the ridge N above Conundrum to the next prominence, Pt 13540. There is some awkward, exposed, and loose Class 3 in this short segment on the ridge. From Pt 13540, it's possible to drop down to American Lake and descend to the Castle Ck road from there, thereby making a loop (well, a U. I've probably done this 5 times, and never once have my attempts to hitch along the road from the American Lk TH to the Cathedral Lk TH been successful...).

Combo with Leahy
Did these after Malamute Peak. I ran out of gas so I ditched on Cathedral. Next time. Good weather, cool little summit.

Ridge with Leahy
1st: 6/25/11 - Climbed via Leahy Peak from Cathedral Lake with Floyd and Cheeseburglar. Climbed Malemute and Leahy as well before, then from Electric Pass dropped to to the American Lake side for a loop hike with car shuttle.
2nd: 9/26/21: Standard trail route with Lindsay. We took her husky Derek up it for his first birthday. Trail cuts all the way across to the SW ridge and up it, great summit views!

A Beautiful Hike
From start to finish this was just a beaufiful hike. To top it off it was my son's first 13er. A great way to spend the day with my son!
We stopped at Cathedral Lake on the descent. A nice relaxing way to end the day.

2x: Traverse from Cathedral & Winter Ascent
6/17/06 - Met shanahan96 on the summit of Cathedral, our groups teamed up for the traverse to "Electric Pass Pk". The ridge was rotten and dangerous.
3/2/13 - Our climb of Leahy Peak & neighboring "Electric Pass Peak" ended up being a 16 hour epic due to very difficult conditions. The snow was often thigh, and sometimes crotch, deep on the approach from Ashcroft up the Pine Creek drainage. En route we saw several natural avalanches sparked by the sun's intense heat. We took quite a circuitous route to navigate through avalanche terrain, especially at the headwall below Cathedral Lake. The ascent took 12 hours and we summited "Electric Pass Peak" right at sunset. The descent took a mere 4 hours.

great views
Some of the best views I've seen in the Elks. The alpine snow/Ice conditions weren't good like they should be this time of year on the Pearl Couloir so we took this scenic route and traveresed to Leahy. It's great to climb stunning peaks like Cathedral, Castle and the Bells, but also great to tour around them and witness thier granduer.

Easy climb. Awesome view of Cathedral and Conundrum valley. Glissaded down the north face and over to American Lake. Unfortunately we did not plan ahead and only had 1 car.

via south slopes
climbed Electric after Cathedral by descending down to Cathedral Lake and travering over to Electric Pass trail. The views of Cathedral and its north ridge are awesome. We took a look at descending the north ridge but it looks very convoluted!

A Second Place Summit
A nice hike. Camped at 10,900ft. the night prior. Originally planned on doing Cathedral but the snow was too wet for a safe ascent (in my opinion). Hit Mt. Leahy on the way down via the Electric Pass Trail. Backpacked out on "rubbery" legs.

South Face
Skied ~5 feet from the summit. From one of Cathedral's north ridge couloirs to Leahy Peak.
