After more than an hour of bare rocks and glacier snow, this blade of grass looked like coming from another world. The flowers were quite out of place in this land of granite spires and gendarmes. Lyell. California. July 14, 2007. 11:45 am.

totally in place, the climber's great reward in the Sierra. I hope you got close enough to smell their heavenly scent

What a fitting name! Oh, yes, I've seen them and knelt down to smell them many times. They still catch me by surprise up there in the higher desert.
