Upper section of North Kaibab in January
This is the location where I stashed the skis which have been so useful on the 41-mile approach from Jacob Lake winter TH. The remaining snowbound section of N Kaibab was less than two miles long (above Supai Tunnel and again between the bridge and the Redwall), and most of it was supportive crust, like in this picture. But some knee-depth postholing was there too for good measure.
