tennis shoesgreat photo. Tennies seem like a reasonable choice given the rather crumbled look of the rock.

Re: tennis shoesThe Dolomites are famous for looking like s**t up close, but the truth is that they are dream rocks! But anyway, yeah, in this picture we've finished the more technical part of the climb and are doing a long traverse around ribs that is maybe YDS 5.2 at most, so I happily got out of the rock shoes.
I like this pic because it shows what I like best about alpine rock climbing: only moderate difficulty, but a dramatic setting with lots of constrast...rich green meadows below and towers nearby.

AmazingI just came across this photo. Something seemed very familiar. I checked my pics from the trip to Funffingerspitze last July, and yes - I have pictures of you guys climbing up there. Actually we met, when I was coming down from the top and you (there was a Brazilian guy too, right?)were on the way up, after having done the thumb. Very funny. If I knew at the time, that I had a SP-great in front of me I would have stopped for a talk.

Re: AmazingHaha, hey that is awesome! Yes, if you look at my trip reports you'll see a report of that day, and will recognize the Brazilian guy and my other friend too. Cool, share the pictures if it's easy, would love to see them.
That was a really beautiful day.
