Re: Looks like a fumaroleYep, thats right. It is still an active volcano and the intensity of the fume varies a lot. However you´re not allowed to go there while participating in USAP (US Antarctic Program) unless you have a valid science purpose and permits. Also sometimes the fume stays as a cloud just around the summit when the rest of the sky is clear which is really beautiful.
