A look at Vermilion Peak, one of Colorado's centennial peaks (100 highest in the state). This may be the toughest peak that I have climbed to date, considering that it took us a bit of route finding and help from another climber to find a passable route to the top. Snow, ice, and treacherously loose rock almost inhibited our summit push. Once at the top, a narrow ledge of incredibly loose rock was all that we could share with each other. Another great day in the mountains.
