Tomek Lodowy - Sep 2, 2009 10:21 am Date Climbed: Aug 18, 2009
Main Rodnei ridge, from the east
We started the first day on the ridge at Ineu in the morning, reaching Gargalau in gloomy conditions of stormy clouds coming from the west around 6.30 pm, so we were descending quite quickly towards Saua Gargalau where we planned to camp. The peak's location and its prominence makes it absolutely fantastic mountain panorama point, great views towards both parts of Rodnei ridge.

En route to Omului peak (headed towards Coronghis peak but turned back from Omului to save energy for the next days ridge ride)
peterbud - Apr 29, 2009 6:25 am Date Climbed: Apr 10, 2009
Route: from Borsa Complex
Ascended via Cascada Cailor and the ridge of Muntele Cailor. Above Poiana Ştiol there was 0,5-1 m of weak snow, which made the climb quite tiring. Descend was much quicker, as a thunderstorm approached.

Climbed Route: Borsa - Pietrosul - Rebra - Laptelui Mare - Gargalau - Omului - Ineu - Sant
As part of a main ridge backpacking trip, spanning over 5 days. Actual day's share: from campsite near Saua Gargalau to Ineu peak and Lala Mica Lake.

Gargalau is not an easy name, so we changed it to "Gargamel". Yes, if you associate this one with blue Smurffs, it is a good idea :)) Besides very nice view from a top

We get to the summit from the west on our way to cross the whole range. Great views on the whole Muntii Rodnei. We met here Romanian army group on "trip" :).
