with Wasatch Mountain Club group
From Maple Hollow trailhead; about 1/3 to 1/2 of hike we used snowshoes (helpful here and there, but not absolutely necessary). Also hit nearby peaks 6562, 6388, and one estimated at 6684 elevation. Saw more than a dozen mule deer in this wintering ground, and many people/dogs. Sewer manholes along the road we walked suggest that this will be urbanized even more.

Views of Snow and Sun
A mix of snow squalls and sun greeted me here. I was looking for a quick bit of exercise on way to airport from Capital Reef, and this fit the bill perfectly. Particularly muddy on one section, with a mud that hardened like concrete on my boots afterwards. Saw four deer.
My wife and I were visiting family and friends in the Salt Lake area and decided to tackle this little knob. We wore sandals which led to muddy feet as some snow was still melting on the northern approach. Beautiful 360 views of Utah and Salt Lake Valleys.

Snowy
Climbed this peak on a very snowy day. Summit was covered in clouds but it was an enjoyable hike despite the weather!
Trail run with BEANS! to VB, unnamed 6er and Steep Mtn.

Spring Jaunt
A short stroll, albeit with some blinding snow, to a nice summit with some spectacular views--hence the name. About 35 minutes up, 10 minutes taking pictures on the scenic summit, about 25 minutes down; a huge payoff for such an easy hike. Would recommend for anyone hungry for a peak in early season, with amazing views as an added bonus!

Another way
Leaving from Maple Hollow housing area, I used the old jeep road that is now part of a bike and hike trail system maintained by Draper. GPS 40.4611 111.8363 at 5560' is where I parked. I followed the road portion as it dropped into Maple Hollow and then went across the "creek" and straight up the side of the hill, eventually getting to the summit of View Benchmark. It gains about 1000 feet and is a bit more challenging than following the other route posted on this page. A nice change of pace and perhaps better for conditioning. I'll eventually get around to posting a route for this one when I get a chance.

Great views
Went up here with the girl I was dating at the time. She was from New Orleans and really enjoyed the views of both Salt Lake and Utah valleys. She was living in Salt Lake at the time and this was a fun one.
It was my wife's birthday and we decided to run up here since it had been raining all day and it was pretty cool with all the fog and VERY low visibility. It made the dirt road seem fun. It rained on us most of the way and we got absolutely soaked in a downpour on the way back down.
I believe a couple buddies and I ran up here from the Micron area back when I was in High School, but I can't be for sure we made it to the right summit.

Two times.
The first part was rocky, and we saw a girl and her dog. And we kind of got muddy. There was barely any snow. The second time a week later, it was cool we made it. It was fun to see the triangle structure again. We got muddy again. It was windy, my hat blew off.

From Deer Ridge TH
I worked 14+ hours the day before and felt compelled to get some fresh air. This was a great after-work hike. I had the mountain to myself most of the time, though I did run into a local teenager who said he'd seen the triangulation structure at the summit and just wondered what was up there.
Made for a great two-family, 2 and a half hour outing on a Saturday. Hiked this with my wife and four kids and with Carrie Powell and her four youngest kids. Beautiful day - snow was melting fast, snowy and muddy in places, but not too bad. Great views!

A Quickie
This peak has one of the best views in the Wasatch. On a clear day you can see from Mt. Nebo to Ben Lomond and everything in between. I frequently do training runs up this mountain from various trailheads in Draper that give me 8-10 miles with 1600-2000 vert.
Nice short hike with Sam this morning. Perfect weather and of course great views.

I was headed down to Draper to visit family, so I threw the snowshoes in, knowing that I had a couple of hours free. Had a blast thanks to the great info on the page!
