View from Bunsen Peak Summit

Though Bunsen Peak isn't very high, its local prominence gives it pretty good views. Here's a view to the north, with the Absarokas in the background, the Yellowstone River (not quite visible) flowing from right to left, the Gardiner River valley from right foreground into center, Gardiner in left center, Mammoth Hot Springs in center to right foreground, and the Mammoth travertine terraces visible from an uncommon back angle in center foreground. Photo from the summit of Bunsen Peak just before the sun went down over the Gallatin Range (off-stage to the left), late September 2007.
