The Gelttalspitze isn't visible from the Dreieckspitze

The Gelttalspitze is much too low to be seen from the Dreieckspitze; the ridge between Magerstein and Schneebiger Nock never drops more than a couple of meters below 3200 m and completely blocks it from view.

To the best of my knowledge, from left to right these are Magerstein (3273m), Frauenköpfl (3244m), Fernerköpfl (3249m) with an unnamed one right next to it (between 3230 and 3240m) and finally Schneebiger Nock (3358m).

You are right. But 10 years ago there was no tool on the internet to help you name the summits. I'm not even sure that this was taken from the summit. It was taken back in the time I was still using film (1999) and as far as I remember I simply ran out of film on the summit after one or two shots. But certainly taken on the route somewhere.

Re: The Gelttalspitze isn't visible from the Dreieckspitze

I only switched to digital in 2005, and find that with older pictures it's already difficult to determine the exact date, let alone the exact location where they were taken, so you did a pretty good job with that.

That said, it looks like this could very well have been a summit view. If it wasn't, it must have been pretty close, for otherwise the Bärenluegspitze would have blocked the view in this direction, assuming you were on the normal route.
