View from the Untersberg to the Dachstein in the east

Seen from below Geiereck. The tracks in the snow are probably those of a chamois.

Re: Hey Maurice...

Thanks very much, dear albanberg - isn't your real name also Eric, like mine? - you're very kind! Yes - have a look at the trip report; you'll find all the sunset-sunrise photos I took in the gallery of that page!
All the best to you and many cheers,

Re: Absolutely delightful!

Thank you very much, dear Sarah - I'm so happy about all the appreciation this photo is getting! The best part of it is - I didn't have to do any photoshopping with the colors or with the contrasts; everything is exactly as the camera itself captured it!
A big hug,
Eric

Re: beautiful...

Thanks a lot, draha Liba - I love the words you found for it! I wasn't playing any music myself just then, but somebody certainly was striking the luth for me in that moment...
A big hug to you,
Eric

Dream photo

A whole new world being up there. I count myself fortunate to have climbed above a sea of cloud quite a few times.

Very nice soft light and texture. I believe there is a way to prevent the flare - maybe use the flash to bring up the light in the foreground, then the sun would have less apparent brightness.

Re: Awesome

Absolutely!! That's what it looked like the whole two days I was up there, the fog layer was so compact! There are some photos which bring out even more the effect you mentioned - have you seen them already?
Many cheers, and thanks,
Eric

Awesome Picture

The angle of the mountain to the valley below looks a little like exiting the Rock Rooms in the Wichita's of OK... except the elevation is much different.
