1938?Very interesting,
How has that been surviving there since 1938? The paper in most summit registers that I see has disintegrated after only 10 years. I guess they don't make them like they used to any more:)

Re: 1938?If you are interested, in Utah, I havw found on dating to 1910.
If it is well protected, paper can last years.

Re: 1938?This register was well protected. The paper was a little stiff and crusty, so I did not leaf through the pages for fear of wrecking them, but it was cool to see the first page like that, and I did sign a newer page someone had left.

Re: 1938?I guess the key is to keep the paper dry. I thought PVC pipe with screw cap would be the best but I have seen water even inside those.
