East-southeast Side of Mont Velan (3.734m) with its pillars or rocky ribs and gullies, all between South-southwestern and East-northeastern Ridges

In foreground and from left or South: the S-SW Crest above the Faceballa Saddle (3.280m) reaching Quota 3.650 meters and from this the E-NE border Ridge between Italy/Switzerland, descending on Mont Capucin (3.395m), bypassing the three Velan Horns (3.620 meters the main or Western), the sex Teeths (3.595 meters the highest or Western) and Testa d'Ariondet or Testa de Riondet (3.485m). In background: the Valsorey Glacier or Swiss Standard Route from Velan's Cabane (2.569m).
