May 8th, 2005 - The huge NE face of Storm Mountain is mostly hidden within the steep and narrow Tanner's Gulch. The rock part of the face rises some 2,000 vertical feet. Near the mouth of Stairs Gulch there are many rock aretes that are popular places for multipitch climbing. The right skyline is the class 4 North Ridge. The long sliver of snow on the left is a classic Wasatch alpine climb known only as the NE Face. It is a mixed route that climbs for 2,000 feet from Stairs Gulch, finishing with 600 ft of moderate face climbing to reach the summit.
