Male Gredos ibex

A male Gredos ibex or cabra montés de Gredos (Capra Hispanica Victoriae) near Los Barrerones when descending to Laguna Grande. This is a protected subspecies of Capra Pyrenaica, it's reckon that there are more than 3500 examples in the reserve.

Outstanding pic

Does an animal like this pose any danger to you? You appear to have been able to get pretty close (telephoto maybe?) Nice shot.

Only 3 meters. Pretty impressive indeed, I know I'd be alittle nervous to be this close to those big horns. ; )

Indeed, in a moment it seemed like the he-goat came to me because he walked some steps in my direction. I stoped taking photos but I had time to shot 3 snaps. I don't know what is worst, to be attacked by a male wild goat or bitten by a fox, see my pic. I gave no food to the goat but many people do, so now wild goats are very used to come near the hikers.
