The south slopes of Windy...

The south slopes of Windy Peak as seen from the Windy Peak Trail to the SSE on July 24, 2002. The trail ascends the basin at right then angles rightward on sandy terrain toward the snowpatch on the right skyline. The summit is not visible. What is seen here is the southern terminus of the plataeu area south of the summit. Incidentally, the burned trees are the result of the Hickey Hump Fire of mid-August 2001. The trail passes through a highly charred area of this burn NE of Hickey Hump.
