The Main (East) Tower of...

The Main (East) Tower of Three Queens from the southeast. It is necessary to cross the steep snowslope to get to the Northeast Ridge. Due to the lack of run out to cliffs below, an ice axe is a wise thing to have unless it's late season and the snow is gone. Because I didn't have my ice axe with me, I chose to follow the tracks that exited to rock in the snow finger just right of center. There's actually a person descending the Northeast Ridge in this photo (tiny blip on the ridge skyline). Photo taken July 9, 2000.
