ski in August??

was it worth climbing Hocharn with ski in August? For me June was already too less snow. Did you just take the picture in this part of a second when your fellow fell into a crevasse?! Did something happen? And finally: I would never use jeans trousers in the mountains!

1. Yes it was worth climbing Hocharn in August. After heavy snow falls it was possible to ski until the end of Pilatus Kees which makes a vertical distance of 1000m (better skiing down than walking :)) As I love skiing I would have done it for less too.

2. It is me on the photo and the photo was just taken in the second when I broke through.

3. I had luck, I was too fast to fall into the crevasse.

4. Consider this was 13 years ago when I was a poor student who couldn´t aford expensive sportswear, we also didn´t know anything about Goretex.

Well, the photographer was lucky because he took the phote in the right moment and I was lucky because I was fast and could reach the other side of the crevasse :-)
