View from Twin Lakes to Rock Creek Butte

View from Twin Lakes to Rock Creek Butte - the snowy peak beyond the ridge. The Twin Lakes Trail Route goes through the saddle to the right which is about where the Twin Lakes Trail meets the Elkhorn Crest Trail.
We climbed directly from the lower lake to the summit of Point 8,508 via a snow filled couloir and traversed the ridge (left skyline this photo) from there NE (shows well in this photo) to the east slopes of Rock Creek Butte. A good early season outing providing some moderate snow and easy rock scrambling. Probably a lot of loose rock without the snow cover.
