Looking up at Mt. Buckner...
Looking up at Mt. Buckner--with Horseshoe Peak at upper left--from our camp atop the 6,900-ft promontory in the center of Horseshoe Basin. The best camping in the upper basin is atop this promontory. We spotted a bear on the heathery slopes visible here. I fully expected he'd come back our way at the end of the day. And I was right. Aug. 30, 2004.
