The NE (Main) Peak of Helen...
The NE (Main) Peak of Helen Buttes from Pk 4960+ on Feb. 19, 2005. We should have stayed on the ridge crest at right (hindsight is 20-20). Instead, we tried to get down to the snowy bench by way of a spur ridge visible at left. Anyway, we made Pk 4960+ and then had a 2.5 hour cross-country route left to regain the Cow Heaven Trail. Found the trail in the woods at 6:35PM.
