San Gabriel Mountains after May snowstorms

San Gabriel Mountains after May snowstorms

San Gabriel Mountains after two May snowstorms. In theory, May snowstorms in the San Gabriels should not be especially unusual. But it has been an unusual three winters. There was almost no snow in January. While February-April saw some snow, there were no big storms. And then May came, leaving much more snow than in the month of January. I wasn't able to get any truly good shots during my brief trip through the Angeles Crest Highway due to fog, but this picture gives some idea of what things looked like.
