SE corner of vast Lika...

SE corner of vast Lika region, small Croatian version of Tibet; a high lying, mountain closed and in winter cold region. Of course, that is where all similarities, which remind me, end. Tibet is certainly colder although in Lika temps drop to -30°C and lower. Also precipitation cannot be compared with dry Tibet because in Lika total of 2-3m of snow falls in winter. This is the view from Celavac (1198m) on SE Velebit. In the mid area of the photo is Gracac town. Behind is small section of Licka Pljesivica massif which closes big part of Lika from the east. Velebit does that from the west. Winter 2005.
