faulty mountain

Your photo shows beautifully the parallel layers that make up this side of the mountain. They look like sedimentary rock turned on edge, but the peak is igneous granite. Beckey's book says there's a fault between the two mountains; those layers must be fractures caused by the mountains moving in different directions.
