West Slope Route Diagram

A diagram of the West Slope Route of Little Chief Mountain. The route ascends the thick forest at lower left before breaking out of the trees near the second prominent drainage from the left. The crux of the climb entails climbing above the algal reef, a prominent band of grey, smooth rock that runs horizontally across the slope (angling slightly down and to the right). Above the reef is a series of goat trails that facilitate a southerly traverse beneath the imposing summit cliffs.
