St. Mary meadow

A beautiful morning on the open meadows near the St. Mary entrance. Little Chief Mountain is visible on the extreme right. Moving left, the next two prominent summits belong to Mahtotapa Mountain and Red Eagle Mountain; this trio of peaks has a connecting ridge that allows a lengthy multi-summit tour above St. Mary Lake. Peering through the clouds, just below and left of center, is Split Mountain. September 13, 2010
