Azure Window

Today I was very surprised and a bit saddened to read that the famous Azure Window on the island of Gozo, Malta, has suffered a dramatic collapse during a big storm earlier today. I knew it wasn't structurally sound, but still I had not expected this to happen so soon. We visited last December, on a rock climbing trip to the Maltese islands. Although there were a number of routes (and there even was a piece of gear hanging from the ceiling of the arch), climbing had been forbidden for some time so we just looked at it.
