Unexpected solitude
Second time hiking Baden-Powell, first time taking this route. Much less onerous than I expected - trail is well-maintained. Faaar fewer people than I expected on a sunny Sunday afternoon!
Views from the scree ridge above the switchbacks are IMO far better for everything except the LA basin than the summit itself. The blue spraypaint (from a long-concluded SAR op?) has yet to be removed, though.

First Time
My first time on this peak. A short but strenuous route. Sunny and in the 40s, not too windy.

Steady but relentless hike to top
Beautiful hike perfect for fall. Not too hot or too cold. The trail was very well maintained and difficult for an out-of-shape city dweller like me, but not impossible. Great hike for those who dream of being peak baggers but lack the skill or time to conquer the toughest mountains.

Great climb
Hiked up from Vincent and back down to Dawson - staying the night atop the peak to watch the Supermoon rise

Gooey!
Beautiful day to break trail in 6-12" of the gooey-est snow I've been in for a long long time! Winds were a wonderful sustained 35mph with gusts that nearly knocked me over but the sun was out and we stayed pretty warm. Can't wait for a couple more feet of wet stuff to set this baby up for some ski descents!
Tagged Burnham as well....boring summit.

Adam and Me
Hiked with my son Adam and some new friends on a beautiful day. This was my first time on this side of the San Gabriel's. Adams second mountain and he slept through the summit part.
Did this one with my bro and some dude we met at chili's the night before. He tore his ass on the glacade down. summit was amazing and amazingly cold. 10 degrees f. The first ascent was with my bros.
This is one of the easiest snow routes on the range. Usually you can reach Vincents and there will still be a lot of snow on the mountain. Just go straight up since the trail will be covered in snow.

Vincent Gap Trailhead
Got off work and wanted to do something different. So, I road my bike from Valeyermo to Mt. High and then to Vincent Gap. Change and stash my bike, then hiked to Baden Powell Summit. Met another hiker on top who is hiking the 'whole' PCH trail, and then hike down.
Change and road back to Valeyermo in the dark.
