Tajumulco Clmbs
March 17th was the first time I climbed Tajumulco. I have gone up 4 different times, always sleeping below the summit and climbing to the top to watch the sun rise. Amazing views!
Went there w/ Quetzaltrekers... great fun (despite of the rain and cold !)

Normal Route
We climbed with Jesar, a guide from Adrenalina Tours. He was awesome and the views were spectacular. A rancher gave me a bit of a hard time at the drop, blaming me for the civil war genocides, but other than that, it was a great trip. Very cold at 13,100 feet at night.

Spectacular
Climbed with Quetzaltrekkers, a non profit org that helps the street kids of Xela. the guides are all volunteers. the view was amazing as at sunrise one of the volcanoes on the horizon erupted massively spewing an ash cloud kms into the atmosphere.

Just a few comments. Don´t get off at Llano de la Guardia, ride the bus to the top of the hill after it and get off right at a left corner where a good cobbled street takes off to the left. There´s a sign there that has a picture of mountains and says Tajumulco. I will file a trip report if I ever get time. Made the summit, highest point in Central America.....

Beautiful SunriseClimbed with Quetzaltrekkers. After rough night of cold, relentless rain, and a flooded tent the sunrise was INCREDIBLE.
