Love this mountain!!I remember my grandfather and I hiking (and sometimes scrambling) up green knob from the old haywood gap RR grade. It's a less taken route and is obvious right away. You have to be in damn good health to take this route.

Great peak.One thing that I really like about that area (MIddle Prong) is that you can find some true solitude there. Everyone seems to cram into Shining Rock, leaving Middle Prong mostly empty of humans.
