My dogs and I did a little loop: up the trail to the pass - up the SW ridge to the summit - and down the SE ridge. This is really magnificent country! Excellent summit! The trail's in great shape and there is nobody around.

I HATE climbing on Beargrass!
1aug09 - My friend Jim and I climbed Watchtower using a route along the ridge-crest from the Montana/Idaho pass. IT DID NOT HAVE BEARGRASS! We backtracked along the ridge and climbed Sheephead Peak (Point 8641) before descending back to the Watchtower Creek Trail.
27jun07 - The views from the summit are spectacular, but getting there by climbing through a thick forest on slippery Beargrass is not my idea of fun.
