This pretty little park is located off NC-194 north of Newland in Avery County. The creek drops about 50' in three stages. This is the middle and upper sections of the falls. June 2006

The falls are just west of Newland adjacent to NC-194. There is a Family Dollar directly across the street. The local fire department maintains the site as a town park and a nice trail follows the creek upstream. These are actually the just the top two of three drops. Its not the most spectacular falls but it a pretty spot to just sit and relax.
