Constructive CriticismJust to help out I have a few pointers, observations for you on this image.
What each reviewer has already pointed out, the image is a little under exposed and you certainly can use what ever tools you want to alter the image. If it's good enough for Ansel Adams, it's good enough for you ;)
What has not been pointed out, though, is that there are other conpositional elements that are preventing the image from being stronger. One of them is that when the horizon and the primary focal point (the peak in this case) are placed right smack in the middle and center, respectively, it really locks in the composition as static. So, your eye says, "Got it. Next!" and moves right on to the next picture. You want the viewer to stay a while and look around.
So, try to think about the placement of your subject when you shoot. Or crop your images when you get back to the darkroom or computer.
As is, in all honesty, it's a three star image at best in my book. I see the potential for four stars but you'll need to lighten it and then crop it to make the composition more forcefull.
I'll give ya four stars, though, because you're interested in improving your skills and after all, what do the four stars cost me?

So should I delete this picture, do some work on it and then repost it? Or just move on to the next shot?

Re: Constructive CriticismDo a web search on "composition rule of thirds" and you'll get a bunch of hits about this. Here's one. Of course like all photographic rules its meant to be broken from time to time, if there are other strong elements in the image. But as a general guideline its a decent one to follow.

As for what to do with the pic I'd say not to sweat it. Move on. Make more images and come back to this one and "fix" it later if you want to. Just chalk it up to experience because if we all spent hours retouching each image we thought needed work we would have no time to take more pictures.

WOW! It's A LOT Darker On A CRT!Now I know what every one is saying. On my home CRT the picture shows much darker than on the LCD at work. Hardly the same picture! I am very surprised that there was such a large difference.

it's....ok.the pic a little dark and gloomy, nice composition, but a little more sunlight would make it a lot better to look at.
