The Snowdon Range
Consisting of England and Wales highest summit and home to some of the greatest mountain activities Wales can offer this range of mountains is always busy rain or shine.

The Carneddau
Being the most isolated and highest mass of land over 3000feet in England and Wales this range has some fine summits and after the Snowdon range is the only other to have summits in excess of 1000metres.

The Glyderau
A large range of summits with what must be Wales second most popular peak Tryfan as part of it consists of some fine stomping ground for knocking off high peaks as the range consists of a long east to west ridge divided north from the Carneddau by the Ogwen Valley and divided south from Snowdon by the Pen y Pass.

The Arans
A truely isolated ridge within the middle of Wales.
It is rarely used and is a great quiet day out on the tops. With its height and position it commands fine views 360degree of the whole of Wales also giving views in as far as the Pennines and Malverns.

Cadair Idris
A fine ridge just south of the Welsh town of Dolgellau which has a great horseshoe walk combining all its summits. Views north from here encompass the whole of Snowdonia the Arans and the Berwyns. Views south cover Plynlymon Fawr the Brecon Beacons and The Black Mountains.

The Brecon Beacons
South Wales most famous range of summits consisting of large eroded sandstone cliffs on there north face. Views from here cover most of south Wales other peaks and as far as the Gloucestershire Cotswolds over 40 miles away on the finest of days.

Moelwyns
The summit of Moel Siabod comes under the Moelwyn Range but as it stands out as such an isolated summit and is the only one in excess of 800metres in this region it is normally looked at as a seperate summit.

Arenigs
The Arenigs are an isolated group of summits situated between the towns of Bala and Trawsfynydd. They consist of three main summits the largest being that of Arenig Fawr which has two of the 800metre+ tops. This is also linked to its neighbouring summit called Moel Lyfnant. The third summit Arenig Fach is far and isolated from these in being to the north and on the other side of the main Bala to Trawsfynydd road.

The Berwyns
The Berwyns are a fantastic range situated just in the border of Wales from Shropshire and Cheshire. They stand between the towns of Llangollen to the north. Llangynog to the south and Bala to the west.

The Black Mountains (East Brecon Beacons)
A vast area of upland that rises between the towns of Abergavenny and Hay On Wye consisting of many ridges and valleys that slope calmly from a south east to north west direction then falling away with steep slopes into the Wye valley. The highest tops of this region are all on the areas north west side.

The Black Mountain (West Brecon Beacons)
These summits rise in a great sloping ridge from the south and falling away with stunning cliffs on there north face that were coursed by glacial action back in the ice age period.
